OY VEY!

MY BAD! It is over 6 months since my last post...been real busy.
Lots has happened since then....
*Sean moved to Alaska in March. Miss him terribly....
*Spent the rest of March, April and May rennovating the townhouse. Spent LOT'S of time there painting, cleaning etc. I am still exhausted from it all! Place looks great. Getting ready now to put the final touches on the rennovations. The decision now is whether to sell it or rent it out. Will take a beating on it if we decide to sell...the market is just so terrible right now. We will see.
*The Chicago Maidys came to visit in May/June so we could celebrate Ben's #1 Birthday....had a BLAST! So much fun! Went to the beach, shopping, Parrot Jungle Island, Lion Country Safari, shopping, Butterfly World, shopping etc, What a whirlwind week! Our boys are growing up so fast! It was great to spend time with them all.
*Mom-Mom took quite a spill at work end of June - slipped on the tile at work and burst her knee open - 17 stitches! OUCH! Then fell a second time just two weeks later. She is still recuperating.
*Got a promotion in my home business, effective July 1. I contract with Barnes&Noble.com, and joined their membership team as a Performance Facilitator. It's been a lot of work - but I truly enjoy it a lot. I again have a sense of comradery with my new Team-mates!
*Kevin and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary on September 16th. Time sure flew.....30 years! Looking forward to many, many more happy anniversaries!
*Went to Chicago for Jack's birthday - our little man turned 3 on September 25!! Had a wonderful time....wishing someway, somehow we could just move back to Chicago - hate it that we are missing so much!

The Heat is ON!!

Wow! the temperature has dropped to the low 30's here in South Florida.

For the FIRST time in 6 years, we were forced to turn the heat on in the house today! The temperature registered 58 degrees IN the house, and we knew it was time when we could see the frost on our breath (in the house!!)!!

Just cannot imagine the temperatures the kids are facing in Chicago.

Chrismukka List

Yes, I thought as long as everyone else is doing it, I might as well do it, too!
Here goes....

Good health....can't have too much of that! C'mon, bring it on!
Lots of love....that's a toughie, already getting plenty of that year 'round!
Weath and prosperity....I'll be satisfied with prosperity! Looks like this one will be the challenge.
Family....hoping we can spend as much time together as possible in 2009.

I cannot believe how the time is flying by. My baby is 2 today.

Empty Nest

Well, we took Samantha back 'home' to Chicago. She has always wanted to move back (actually never wanted to leave!)

She has moved in with Alexander, Taylor, Jack and Benjamin; and will be taking care of Benjamin for the next several months. She plans to go to Harper College in January 2009. While I knew this day would one day come, I guess I did not expect it to arrive so quickly!

It feels funny not having her here with us.
It feels funny pulling up in the driveway and not seeing her car there.
It feels funny waking up in the morning, knowing she is not fast asleep just down the hall.
It feels funny not saving her a plate for dinner.
It feels funny not waiting up for her anymore.
It feels funny going to bed at night.
It just feels funny...
